This year MRI has reached an important milestone by turning 70 years old.
The Company, which started its operations as a technical rubber goods manufacturer in 1935, successfully expanded over the years into many businesses, some of which are not part of the Group anymore, but have nevertheless allowed us to build up a rich and diversified experience. Examples of such businesses include tyres, in joint venture with Firestone, industrial bests, low pressure industrial hoses and automotive hoses which were sold to a financial concern.
Hydraulics has always been the core business since the beginnings, this activity has grown from a single product single plant division in Italy, into an integrated designer and manufacturer of a full range of metal and rubber components for high pressure applications with 9 plants throughout Europe and Asia.
MRI has also achieved global leadership in wire spiral hose for very high pressure applications, in this fields MRI has built up expertise over a 40 year period, having started production in the mid 1960's.
MRI has always been on forefront of quality and environmental issues, becoming the first European Company in its field to be certified ISO 9001 in 1992 and the first to be certified according to ISO 14001 at several plants starting from 2002.
This latest development is still ongoing and will be gradually expanded over all our manufacturing plants.
Far from resting on its achievements, MRI considers this milestone to be a new starting point, with its strong and dedicated team of human resources MRI will continue to support its customers growth into the future.
